Pyrography
The term means "writing with fire", from the Greek words 'pur' and 'graphos'. Pyrography is the art of decorating wood and other surfaces with burn marks resulting from the controlled application of a heated tool. It is also known as pokerwork or wood burning.
Pyrography is reflective of my Polish roots and working in this medium is, in a way, an homage to my grandfather who first exposed me to this unique art form at the age of eleven. Fifteen years later I reignited my love for this craft and thus began my own line of pyrography products and jewelry. It has been humbling to be able to create in and be inspired by these natural elements.
